SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT
Join Us for the Last Saturday of the Winter Market. Summer Market Opens on May 2nd.
The Winter Market has moved to Carter Green. Hours are 9 AM to noon.
The mission of the Carmel Farmers Markets is to bring the freshest, most wholesome, and safest Indiana grown and produced foods to the residents of Carmel and the surrounding areas. During this time of turmoil and upheaval for us all, the Market volunteers have continued to keep that mission uppermost in our thoughts and actions. That is why we kept the Winter Market open through the end of its season, which was March 28th. The continuation of the Market is a fluid situation. Watch our e-newsletter and our social closely for weekly updates.

Over the past weeks we have had numerous comments from our shoppers regarding how thankful they are that the Market has been open so they could obtain eggs, meat, poultry, bread and other essentials to maintain a healthy diet. We have also received many "thank you's" from our loyal Vendors for providing them with a place to sell their products. These farmers depend on the sales at the Market for a good portion of their income. As they have pointed out to us, “Our hens have not stopped laying, our vegetables have not stopped growing, our maple trees are following the age-old seasonal pattern of running sap. It hurts us to throw product away.”

We consider the Market to be essential, just like a supermarket. As long as the supermarkets are allowed to remain open, we plan to do the same.

In order to keep customers, vendors and volunteers as safe as possible, there will be some major modifications until this crisis passes. Once that happens, and we can get back to a normal world, we will we will return to the Summer Market you have grown to love. We ask for your, hopefully, short-term help and cooperation as we continue with the following changes for the next two Saturdays:
  • Most vendors will be set up on the granite, paver surfaces on the north side of the Green only
  • Visitors may park only on the south side of the Green in the marked spaces or on the surrounding streets
  • Drivers can enter the Market drive from SW 3rd
  • THERE WILL BE NO PARKING FOR MARKET SHOPPERS IN THE TARKINGTON PARKING GARAGE. THE TARKINGTON BUILDING IS CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC, INCLUDING THE ELEVATORS AND RESTROOMS
  • As soon as you enter into the Green’s drive, park in the first space available on the southside, walk to the vendors on the northside of the Green, shop, return to your vehicle and SLOWLY leave the Market by making your way on around the Green.
  • Remember that cars and pedestrians will be mixed in the same space.
  • There will be no restroom facilities and no ATM
  • MAINTAIN SOCIAL DISTANCING AT ALL TIMES
  • Don’t linger at the Market once you have completed your shopping
  • DO NOT TOUCH ANY PRODUCTS UNLESS YOU INTEND TO PURCHASE THAT PRODUCT. IF YOU TOUCH A PRODUCT, YOU HAVE BOUGHT IT
  • Once you return home, wash your hands thoroughly, don’t set your shopping bags on your counters. Use sanitizer on your car’s steering wheel
  • No prepared foods may be sold by vendors for consumption on the Market grounds. Guests may not eat any prepared foods at the Market. Please cooperate. There will be no tables and chairs. There will be no music or other entertainment.
  • Consider limiting the number of family members coming to the Market
  • Please remember that this is an interim solution in order to help both you, our loyal customers, and our Vendors. We will be back to normal as soon as the Nation’s situation returns to normal.
  • ABOVE ALL, BE PATIENT … BE NICE, BE KIND
