Hoosier Wagyu started in 2015 with the mission to create the best American style Wagyu beef that is born, raised, and processed here in Indiana. Wagyu is a Japanese beef cattle breed (“Wa” means Japanese and “gyu” means cow) that has higher levels of intra-muscular fat or marbling, which makes for tender and flavorful beef. Hoosier Wagyu is a beef provider to some local restaurants but enjoys selling at the market so they can share their story and educate customers about Wagyu beef.
